Every customer has specific requirements. Our approach is fully geared to them. At CTC you can have your data carriers destroyed in several ways. First, we can destroy your data carriers in our professionally secured service centre in Nieuwegein. If you choose this option, we pick up the data carriers with our own transportation. This is the most economical option for you.
A second option is that we destroy the data carriers at your premises with our mobile shredder. This further reduces the risk of data leaks. Someone from your organization can be physically present during the actual destruction of the data carriers. For data security reasons, it is not possible to deliver your data carriers to our service centre yourself.

Did you know that as an organization you are responsible for the safe destruction of tapes after the retention period has expired? Therefore, outsource this to a specialist. We destroy all types of data and backup tapes. For example:
You can have your old backup tapes destroyed in our professionally secured service centre in Nieuwegein. When you choose this option, we pick up the data carriers in a special container with our own transportation. This is the most economical and secure option for you. If you wish, you can also be present during the destruction process. Our customers often appreciate this, especially when the stakes and risks are relatively high.
We can destroy your data-bearing tapes at your premises with our mobile shredder. This on-site service significantly reduces the risk of data leaks. For the sake of your data security, it is not recommended that you bring your data carriers to us yourself.
Complete destruction of backup tapes is the most logical choice when they no longer have any residual value. Or when internal protocols dictate this, for example. If the tapes still have a residual value, physical destruction is not always the preferred option. Below we offer two more methodologies that may suit your specific situation.
In some cases, we can buy back your old hardware. You can then reinvest the residual value in new equipment. Alternatively, you can donate the residual value to the ITdonations Foundation. This foundation donates residual values to charities such as KiKa and CliniClowns. If desired, you can even specify which charity you would like to donate the residual value to.
Do the tapes qualify for reuse? Then data removal is also an interesting and very reliable option. CTC’s specialists can also take care of this for you. For this we use special software from the renowned Blancco. This software has been approved by the Dutch AIVD and is therefore a very safe choice.
